Crow's Nest Pub

Here is another illustration I did for Marston's Beer Company for the Crow's Nest Pub in Seaham UK. You can catch a peak of the illustration on the sign in the picture on Marton's page.

Brewing up an illustration

M3 Communications advertising agency's client, Marston's Beer Company is an independent brewing and pub retailing business They operate around 2,100 pubs and bars situated across Great Britain. M3 hired me to do an illustration for Marston's Beer Company. They needed a look for Red Hawk Brewery. They had an idea of what they wanted. I had fun sketching the idea. This is the illustration I brewed up to be used on their Pub sign and on all their collateral.

On the up side

While the freelance work slows a tad... this gives me a chance to start a few personal pieces I've been wanting to do. My first, the bad boys of Rock-n- roll meet the bad boy of illustration. Well, I may not be a bad boy, but I am sure gonna have fun with this one.

Monstah Lobstah

I just finished my second illustration for Euromoney. It was a quick turnaround. They approved the character sketch and I was able to go to final the same day. On the original file I made a green background. They asked me to create a white tiled kitchen background instead. In the end they ended up tweaking the illustration making alternating tiles gray. You can see the cover here. The New Liquidity Trap

Pecos Bill

"One day a tornado appeared on the horizon. When the twister approached, Bill jumped on it and rode it like a bucking bronco."
4th in my illustrations series called "American Folklore and Legends,"  I present to you Pecos Bill. Pecos follows Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan and Br'er Rabbit. What should be next?

Kolohe 'Iole

Here is the book I illustrated for the Madden Company. It is one of the largest product development companies in Hawaii. This book is about a mischievous rat who gets into trouble, but in the end learns how to care. A great part about this book is that is spells out Hawaiian words phonetically and gives their definitions.

Whip it real good

This is one of the 7 characters I recently was commissioned to do for Lowblaw Brand Ltd. in Canada for their food packaging. This is one of the celebrity characters. I'll give more info when the products come out.

Joke of the month

This is an illustration I did a few months ago for FHM (For Him Magazine) in the UK. It was a fun working with them. I don't even recall the joke now, but I don't think it was to racy.

Polar Bear

It has been busy and truly amazing working on some of the projects I have been commissioned to do in the past two months. This illustration was a test piece for a client who is writing a children's book. In the end they went a different direction, but I still love the way it came out.
On to the next project.

Guess Who?

My latest Commission came to me from across the pond and assigned by Inside Housing Magazine. It was a play off of the kids game "Guess Who?"
It might be unclear what Claer Lloyd-Jones’s title is, but we finally have some indication of what the Tenant Services Authority has been up to in the past year.
